PRE-FEST POP-UPS!

We’ve been busy building out the festival this year to add even more local food and drink experiences throughout the region. We’ve come up with some pre-fest pop-ups that we are incredibly proud of. Check them out!

POP-UP PICNICS

Long Table Launch Party
Fri., Sept. 7th • 6:30pm to 10pm • Headwaters Community Farm
$100 all-inclusive • Kids 12 and under – $25

8 chefs, 8 dishes, 8 beverages. Family-style dining overlooking Northumberland’s finest farm land. Live music by Mayhemingways.

Now and Then – Progressive Lunch
Sun., Sept. 9th • 11am to 3pm • Ganaraska River, Port Hope
$100 all-inclusive • Kids 12 and under – $25

The Ganaraska River is rich with food history and culture including sturgeon, whisky and beer. Can you imagine what we’ll be cooking up? There is lots to taste and talk about on this progressive lunch.

Food of the Land – Progressive Dinner
Sat., Sept. 15th • 5pm to 9pm • Hiawatha First Nation
$175 all-inclusive • Kids 12 and under – $25

Join Caleb Musgrave of Canadian Bushcraft for a trip around Hiawatha First Nation and discover some traditional foods, ancestral preparation methods, songs and stories that make it unique.

CULTIVATE SCHOOL

Beer and Canapés
Fri., Sept. 14th • 7pm to 10pm • South Pond Farms
6 beers, 6 harvest canapés, farm tour • $80

South Pond Farm is a stunning location brimming with the bounties of harvest season. Taste the region’s most interesting beers, paired with fine harvest canapés prepared by the talented team at South Pond. 

Milk a Goat, Make Goat Cheese!
Sat., Sept. 15th • 10am to 1pm • Haute Goat, Newtonville
Workshop, farm tour, gourmet lunch • $80

Learn how to milk a goat (a Nigerian Dwarf Goat, to be exact!) and then make fresh goat cheese! You’ll will be making scrumptious mozzarella.
After class, a  farm-fresh lunch.

Wild Edibles of The Ganaraska
Sun., Sept. 16th • 10am to 1pm • Ganaraska River (Port Hope)
Workshop, walking tour, shore lunch • $20

Fresh, local produce is a virtue for health and ecological footprint, so we’re proud to be able to help folks learn how to forage for wild edibles and medicinals on our trails and waterways. Bretton’s stories and appreciation for the wild with wrap you up like a warm blanket.

Beach + Bar + Beats

Courtyard Summer Series social media main

Beach + Bar + Beats is a four-weekend event of food and drink featuring a licensed waterfront patio on the Cobourg Beach. Each weekend will have local drinks, live music, and fresh food. The Courtyard is both open to the public and admission-free.

The licensed waterfront patio will be open on July 13-15, July 27-29, August 3-5 and August 24-26.  Operating hours will be Fridays 3-10pm, Saturdays 3-10pm and Sundays 12-5pm.

Beach + Bar + Beats is a culinary tourism collaboration between The Market Smor and the Town of Cobourg.  The Courtyard Patio is being operated as a social enterprise with net revenue supporting the Food for Good Community Fund and the Town of Cobourg to help support the maintenance and improvement of the waterfront.
